Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival™ (RIIFF) is calling for gay and lesbian-themed screenplay entries for its 20th Anniversary Festival and its annual Providence LGBTQ Film Festival. Screenplays entered into the competition will be adjudicated by a distinguished panel of industry professionals, educators, peers and film fans.

How to enter Flickers' LGBTQ Screenplay Competition:

• Submissions may be either a feature length or a short film script; and will be judged by a distinguished panel of industry professionals, educators, peers and film fans.

• The Flickers LGBTQ Screenplay Prize winner's work will be used as a focal point during ScriptBiz™, the annual screenplay pitch forum, with industry professionals.

• The winner will also receive prizes that include Final Draft software, RIIFF Festival Passes, and numerous opportunities for screenplay promotion within the industry

The deadline for 2016 screenplay submissions is July 15, 2016. Very Important: Winners will be announced by mid-October 2016 (over Columbus Day Weekend). Note as this is important: This follows the main Festival since it allows us time to read the entries carefully and discuss the reviews with our adjudicators. As this competition is designed, the grand prize screenplay then becomes a focal point for the next Festival the following August in 2017.

Guidelines for Submission and an Entry Form can be downloaded below:

For the first time, the Festival is also taking electronic submissions through Withoutabox (linked above at the top of the page)
