This year's Flickers' Rhode Island International Film Festival, takes place August 9-15, 2021. Screening over 350 films over seven days, the Festival will be a visual and auditory feast for film enthusiasts and moviegoers alike. The largest and one of the fastest growing film festivals in the region, FLICKERS.39 will be hosted in the historic city of Providence and select films will be screened throughout the state of Rhode Island at festival partner locations.

The annual VORTEX Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Horror Film Festival will take place October 16-24, 20121, so mark your calendars. This popular genre Fest also seeks volunteers.

The Rhode Island International Film Festival (a production of the 39 year-old non-profit Flickers, the Newport Film Society & Arts Collaborative) presents year-round programming that celebrates the culture and art of the moving image through filmmaking and film-going experiences. Its misson is to showcase work of exceptional merit and diversity that inform, educate and entertain. In addition to the annual August International Film Festival, the RIIFF is active with educational film programs including KidsEye™, ScriptBiz™, Take 1-2-3: Filmmaking with the Pros™, and RIIFF in the Schools. RIIFF's Cinema RI™ Group hosts special series such as "First Look," and screenings throughout the year for its membership and the general public. Additonally, RIIFF presents sidebar cinematic showcases including the VORTEX Sci-Fi, Fantasy & Horror Film Festival, the Providence LGBTQ Film Festival, the Providence Underground Film Festival, Cine ¡Ole!, the Roving Eye International Film Festival, the RI Film Forum, Jewish Experience Programming, and Ciné Québec.
