BEHIND THE CAMERA LENS:

On the Nature of Genre Filmmaking

On Friday afternoon, October 21st, at 3:30 p.m. fantasy, horror and sci-fi film fans will want to be at the Global Heritage Hall, Room 01, Roger Williams University in Bristol. A special industry Conversation, “Behind the Camera Lens” provides audiences with the opportunity to meet one of the movers and shakers in the film, horror and sci-fi production scene.

Rhode Island has become known as the Independent state for film. Starting with the foundation provided by the film and media programs at our colleges and universities, and the unique talent base of creative artists who have made their homes here. The Ocean State has built a reputation as a one-stop film studio. Among such notable filmmakers as Wes Anderson, Woody Allen and the Farrelly Brothers, and others who have made their films within the Ocean State, the independent horror and sci-fi fantasy genre is steadily becoming an industry standard for RI’s film community.

“Behind the Camera Lens,” this year will feature guest Eric Latek.

ericEric Scott Latek graduated with a BS in Film Concentration, Visual and Media Arts & Mass Communication from Emerson College. The vast knowledge cultivates from Latek's experience in the field of commercial, industrial, documentary and narrative. Eric has personally filmed the stories and lives of over three-dozen people. Eric's philosophy and professional experience has made him become multifaceted in the film industry. Evidence of this wealth of talent and abilities was best exemplified by Filmmaker Magazine's recent recognition of Eric as one of "25 New Faces in Film", worldwide.
