FLICKERS’ RHODE ISLAND INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL ANNOUNCES ANNUAL SCHOLARSHIP FOR STUDENTS IN EDUCATION TO CELEBRATE THE MEMORY OF DIANA DRYWA AND ROSS FEINBERG.

As part of its onhgoing support for education and the arts, the Flickers’ Rhode Island International Film Festival (RIIFF) is proud to announce the annual Diana Drywa / Ross Feinberg Scholarship Fund. The Scholarship is geared specifically for students at studying Education with a focus on teaching. It is open to young scholars who are attending Rhode Island institutions of higher education.

 

Applications are now being accepted with a deadline of Friday, September 23, 2022. The Scholarship finalists will be announced on Sunday, October 23rd at the Annual Vortex Filmmaker's Award Ceremony.

 

Named after Diana Drywa and Ross Feinberg, the scholarship pays recognition to their careers as educators and their community impact.

 

The annual award is for $1,000 and will be presented without restrictions, allowing the winner to use the money as they see fit for their education.

ELIGIBILITY

• Deadline for the application and all support materials is Friday, September 23, 2022.

 

• The $1,000 Drywa/Feinberg Scholarship will be awarded to a Rhode Island student who is a senior in high school (any high school or “homeschooled”) who has been enrolled at a Rhode Island institution of higher education, or any student who is in rising sophomore, junior, or senior standing.

 

• He/she excels in an area or areas of Education including but not limited to: fine arts, visual arts, (illustration, graphic design, multimedia, film), performing arts, the literary arts (creative writing, poetry), music (performance, composing), theatre. Other “sub-genres” may also be considered.
